You're...At Home At Conrad E. Elvehjem School!
Why should adults get all the information?!

You're moving too and you are the one who will be in school all day.
So, just for you, here are some fun reasons why you will think our school is the greatest!

Winter Fun Day

This half day of school in January includes a variety of winter activities ranging from snowshoeing and sledding to arts and crafts and table games. Have hot chocolate with friends and enjoy a day of community building. The Elvehjem Fun Fair

A Friday evening to spend at school playing games, getting your face painted, winning prizes, eating pizza, joining the cake walk and just having a lot of fun with your entire family.

Spelling Bee

Join other 4th and 5th grade students to show off your spelling expertise.

Jump Rope for Heart

If you are in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade you can jump rope to improve your own health while you raise money for the American Heart Association.

Field Day

Spend the afternoon participating in cooperative games with your class. The PTO generously provides ice cream to finish the day.

Theme Days

Every Friday is Theme Day in the lunchroom. Students help decide on a theme (like Hat-day), then they are allowed to wear or act out that theme for lunch. For lunch you can bring cold or buy hot!

Bobcat Assemblies

Students at Elvehjem get together to celebrate learning and friendship. Together, students share cultural arts events and other community-building activities. Bobcat Assemblies include discussing expectations for our new Positive Behavior Plan and talking about "Bullyproofing" our school.

Pond Trips

Walk down to the Acewood pond as part of your science lesson.

School Store

You can purchase common supplies like folders, pencils, erasers and rulers from the school store.

Elvehjem Woods

The woods right behind Elvehjem have a conical effigy mound and lots of trails to hike.

Math-A-Thon

Students in grades 3 through 5 get the opportunity to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital by collecting pledges, then completing a math booklet.

Recorders

Learn to play the recorder in music class when you are in the 4th and 5th grades.

Strings Program

Fourth and fifth graders may choose to learn the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Over 80% of our students participate!
